Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar browser storage pastedownloadapp.com uses, why, and how you can change your choice. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers how the site handles data more generally.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can recognize the browser on a later visit. Sites also use similar technologies, such as local storage, which keeps a small amount of data in your browser without sending it to a server with every request. This policy uses "cookies" to cover both, and lists each one separately below.
Images You Paste Are Never Stored
The paste tool itself does not use cookies. Images you paste, drop, or convert are processed entirely inside your browser and are never uploaded to our servers or saved in cookies or browser storage.
Your Choice on Cookies
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message from Google asks whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Until you choose, Google Analytics and Google advertising run with storage turned off, using Google Consent Mode: they are told not to read or write analytics or advertising cookies. If you accept, those cookies are allowed and ads may be personalized based on your visits to this and other sites. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings option that Google's message leaves on the page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser so the message appears again.
In other regions, analytics and advertising cookies are allowed by default. You can opt out at any time with the tools in the sections below, such as Google's Ad Settings and your browser's cookie controls.
Essential Browser Storage
These items are stored in your browser's local storage, not as cookies. They never leave your device, are not shared with anyone, and are needed for the site to remember your choices. They stay until you clear your browser's site data.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
theme | Remembers whether you picked the light, dark, or system color theme. | Until you clear site data |
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people use the site, which pages they visit, and how they arrive, so we can improve the tool and guides. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland these cookies are only set if you accept in the consent message. Google Analytics commonly sets:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one visitor's browser from another for counting visitors. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Keeps track of the current session for the site's Analytics property. | Up to 2 years |
Google describes how it uses this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)
The site is funded by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. With your consent, they may also personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites. This includes the DoubleClick DART cookie. Cookies Google commonly uses for this include:
| Name | Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
__gads, __gpi | Google (on pastedownloadapp.com) | Ad delivery, frequency capping, and measurement on this site. |
__eoi | Google (on pastedownloadapp.com) | Security and fraud prevention for ads. |
IDE, DSID | Google (on doubleclick.net) | The DART cookie family: ad personalization and measurement across sites. |
Google changes the exact cookies and their lifetimes over time, and typically keeps advertising cookies for around 13 months in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and up to 24 months elsewhere. The current, authoritative list is in Google's cookie policy. Other certified ad partners may also set cookies when they serve an ad through AdSense.
You can turn off personalized ads from Google at any time in Google's Ad Settings, and opt out of many third-party vendors' personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
Other Third-Party Services
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver the font files but does not set cookies. The contact form sends your message through FormSubmit, which receives what you type into the form; it does not set cookies on this site. Videos in our guides show a thumbnail image loaded from YouTube's image server, which does not set cookies. The YouTube player only loads when you click a thumbnail to play it. It uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may store cookies or similar data once the video plays, under Google's cookie policy.
How to Manage or Delete Cookies
- On this site: in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, use the privacy settings option from Google's consent message to change your choice. Declining stops new analytics and advertising cookies from being used, but cookies already set before remain in your browser until they expire or you delete them.
- In your browser: every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data, block third-party cookies, or block cookies for specific sites. Look under Privacy or Site settings in your browser's settings. Clearing site data for pastedownloadapp.com also removes the essential storage above, so the consent message will appear again on your next visit.
- Blocking all cookies does not stop the paste tool from working, since it does not rely on cookies.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when the cookies the site uses change, and adjust the date at the top.
